In the Pearl River Delta, denim, knits and woven dresses come from different towns

Several cross-category enquiries this month asked the same thing: can one factory run the whole range? In practice, womenswear capacity in the Pearl River Delta is organised by category — denim sits around Xintang, knits around Zhongshan and Panyu, woven dresses and small quick-turn runs mostly in Haizhu and Panyu. Denim's bottleneck is not sewing but washing: cost and lead time are set by the laundry's queue and the wash combination (rinse, enzyme, laser, ozone). Splitting a cross-category range by category, under one colour standard and one inspection standard, is faster than forcing it through a single full-range plant.

European modest buyers now name recycled fibre — and opacity is the harder test to pass

Enquiries from modest labels in the UK and France now specify recycled polyester or recycled viscose for longline tops and maxi styles, with a GRS transaction-certificate chain requested alongside. The opacity requirement does not relax: pale colourways still have to pass a single-layer light test. Recycled yarn lots vary more in cover and shade than conventional yarn, so pale maxis go sheer more easily, and acceptance has to lock dye lots on top of the grey card. Our route is to sample pale shades on the recycled base cloth first and confirm opacity before bulk is scheduled.

3D digital samples enter casual womenswear development: settle the fit before cutting a physical sample

In recent casual-line enquiries (tees, hoodies, shirts, denim, casual trousers), more buyers ask to see a 3D digital sample before committing to a physical one. A digital sample surfaces ease, shoulder-drop and placket issues early, cutting physical sampling to one or two rounds. We still keep a 3–5 day first physical sample; digital review sits in front of it and never replaces hand-feel or fabric confirmation.

Trim demand rising: embroidery patches and laser cutouts take a bigger share

Embroidery patches and laser-cutout trims have risen in recent dress and abaya enquiries. Confirming placement and cost at sampling saves significant rework; our pattern room provides craft comparison samples at the first-sample stage.

Spring 2027 development underway: US and EU clients work backwards

Several US and European clients have started Spring 2027 development, working back from December sampling, January ordering and February–March shipping. Brands that miss this window will naturally target pre-fall. Our sampling turnaround is currently about 3–5 days per round.

New first-order pattern: about 50 pieces × 3–5 styles becomes the norm for new brands

More new brands now start with about 50 pieces per style across 3–5 styles, letting real sales data decide reorder direction. The model demands faster pattern-room response and small-batch cutting — and it is a true test of bulk quality discipline.

Year-end shipping peak approaching: bulk slots tightening

With the Christmas shipping window for US and EU markets narrowing, pre-year-end production slots are filling fast. Clients with confirmed styles should lock fabrics, trims and sewing lines early; our bulk lead time is about 10–20 days depending on complexity.

European buyers move eco-compliance ahead of sampling

In this month's European enquiries, more buyers request fabric composition and eco-certification documents before sampling. REACH-related items (azo dyes, formaldehyde, heavy metals) remain the core focus. Build testing time into the schedule rather than discovering gaps before shipment.

A/W enquiries focus on stretch crepe, ponte and wool blends

Autumn/winter enquiries in the past two weeks concentrated on stretch crepe, ponte and wool blends, with trousers and dresses in equal measure. Buyers probe weight tolerance and recovery more closely — quoting candidate fabrics with weight ranges shortens confirmation rounds.

Middle East Ramadan ranges enter sample approval

Middle East clients' Ramadan ranges are moving from enquiry to sample approval; Nida-type abaya main-fabric weight and drape were this week's most-confirmed items. Bulk slots can only be locked after first-sample approval — allow time for at least one revision round.

October enquiry mix: knits regain ground

In the first half of October, knitted tops and dresses regained share in enquiries, led by rib and double-faced knits. Elastic recovery and neckline shape retention were the two metrics buyers asked about most — both should be agreed at the fabric stage, not patched after garmenting.

Middle East orders enter their peak season: abaya and festive dress production begins

Roughly 90 days before Ramadan and Eid is the traditional peak for Middle Eastern orders. LIUYU's Middle East range — abaya and festive dresses — is now in production. Slots are tight, so new orders should be secured early.
